DREAM VS. REALITY :
I've just finished 'ON THE ROAD' written by Jack Kerouac. A bit ambiguous but not much smoky rather a thoughtful blend of fiction and autobiography by a Bitnic legend let me being understood by myself, that often happens with me when I go on with Ginsberg. You might have same experience.
Am i still on the track !? oh....dream and reality,right?..Yea....
Once,I did quite a hedonistic search for dream through walkin',readin',architecture and music.'Pleasure is the most important thing in life'-is not enough to sustain a reasonable cause behind such dreaming, rather I often exhilarated with the feelings of personal freedom that explores my dreams in reality."I'm hotrock capable of everything at the same time and I have unlimited energy"-this ambidextrous confidence once biassed me a lot to be more daring for gambling with life, along with slightly crazed street boys !!
I passed quite a painful child-hood.Never disappointed rather bolstered by all the unfavorable things happened to me I became more confident but a bit lonely in my high school.I was treated as a dogmatic and self-centered boy, eventually. After senior high school graduation I could get admission to the most difficult University to get in.It is highly prestigious and the most desired achievement for any student of my country.Fortunately I got a very friendly and comfortable environment there that boosted me up and forget everything about my past.A wonderful reality gained by power of dream, isn't it?!!!!!!!!!!!
Do you think it's a good example of 'dream comes true'?Few days ago,I found somebody puzzled about her dreams and the reality comes to everyday life.I become surprised when I see people even some fellows of my generation baffling and can't differ such silly matters and dream.
You can't apart DREAM from AUTHENTICITY that stimulates you, heighten your mad-self up everytime you walk on your dream-route,on your very locomotion. You must be murderously crazy to go for hitch-hiking on the road leads to sky(what's there in the other side of sky?)and hoist yourself up to be the paragon of the generation

TOKYO , 2005 :

...............................................................................
pix : YOKOHAMA , JUNE 27,2005
I walked on the banks of tincan banana dock and sat down under the huge shade of a Southern Pacific locomotive to look at the sunset over the box house hills and.....cry.............!!

After a white Christmas( it was literally white, cause that year, snow had been falling since the the first week of December in Tokyo,I can still remember)2005 began like a 'rush' with my final project. The painstakin' exam. was over and most of the times I was spending in front my computer with black-coffee and 'Marlboro'.I was working on ' SPATIAL ADOPTATION OF A TECTONIC MODULAR PROTOTYPE FOR TIMBER-FRAME STRUCTURES IN A TYPICAL JAPANESE WOODEN HOUSE'.Tryin' to make a neat perception of 'MOKUZO JUTAKU' from 'designing' and 'structural' ,both sides. It was a pretty high-ambition project for a 1st year guy,but in those days I got myself as a desperate dream-hunter. Anyway, finally it was selected as the best project of the year after jury's decission.
The new session started from April. There were a lot of things waiting for me .The extension exam of Monbusho Scholarship was supposed to be held in may.Unfortunately we,the candidates from Bangladesh failed to get the extension.I sat for the transfer students' exam. of Utsunomiya University in july, got the result in mid-July, summer-vacation started from August and for the first time I was feelin' homesick after 'one and half an year' long staying out of home, which let me to think about take a nap in winter vacation. The school was going asusual until I took part in that competition. It was a national level contest for all Architecture schools of Japan, arranged by 'Japan Institute of Architects'.So when I got the award, the Architecture Department of T.T.C. treated it as their 2nd victory of the year after my entrance to a Public University.
THE GAKUEN-SAI AND KUNITACHI shimin matsuri :
The Gakuensai was really great. We,the 2nd year students were supposed to plan about what exactly 'Architecture Department' should do for the festival. We decided to arrange an Exhibition of our design projects and some selected projects of Ex.TTC graduates. And so was done!! The Studio class-room was turned to an Exhibition gallery within a night.Tajino and I arranged the lighting system,Araguchi was in-charge of back-ground design,Yoshizawa and some of our juniors made the pannels of the presentation boards and all other self-willing volunteers helped us to make the whole thing lively and finish it on time.A fantastic team-work resulted to a good ending of the festival. Some of my Japanese friends studying in Hitotsu-bashi University came to see my projects in the Exhibition.I was busy on Daigaku-dori with my camera trying to frame-up all the colorful events of a bit louder Kunitachi !!
This year you can try it with your 'Fiancee', rather becoming bore with 3 days' late autumn holyday in your tiny apartment.I can bet you will thank me,if you go!......(to be continued .....plz keep in touch)

TOKYO 2004 :
So far I started writing these trash, the (so called!) manifesto, exaggerated and that much annoying to you I can bet,the idea led by the first couple of weeks after I'd moved to Tokyo.Being enormously obsessed by the continuous strain of my daily school life at T.T.C. I found my sadself(!) wanna go back to my country, sometimes. The compact schedule for the academic year consists of 5 different terminal exams and daily evaluation test after every lesson of the day, innumerable Mock-tests as the preperation for various license exams and these kinda stuff were pretty enough for a foreign student to be "Fucked-Up" ! I often blamed myself to be there. It was not frustration,I just happened not to enjoy Tokyo life as I dreamt while staying at Osaka.
After a pretty long painstakin' negotiation,I could manage my Kacho-sensei to give me permission to go home in the summer holidays.Over the vacation,I just concentrated on my Studio projects like a typical 'ARCHI'(very common slang used in buet campus for every visible matter belonged to architecture faculty!!). And was trying to rush through the lessons of 'Construction-detail' or 'History' whatever I found not much related with Design. What I wanted to do is to absorb and digest, and make a part of my mental make-up,every fact and idea I came upon in my Planning and Design studio projects.Very fortunately we got "Kouzumi sensei and the group" as the course-tutor of STUDIOーⅠ.We learnt the basics of zoning concept and details of tradional Japanese fixtures of wooden houses.Consequently,we learnt Timber-frame structures in Kohda sensei's CAD-Studio.
The Studio projects and workshops were much more effective than theory classes. You can learn new things, practice it by your self and finally apply into your own design and express your ideas by the skills you gained through the whole process. After Koizumi san,Ando san(very enthusiastic young architect and part-time teacher of T.T.C , graduated from T.T.C.), Aya sensei(professional 1st class Architect),Hiranuma Kaori san(pretty hot Japanese lady, having out-standing skillness in 3-D softwares) and Asaba sensei came respectively as our Studio supervisors for STUDIOⅡ,Ⅲ,ⅣandⅤ.Hiranuma san was specially engaged for Sofware-Laboratory.The T.A.s were also kind and helpful. But the most resourceful thing I found in that school was the library.A lot of English books about Architecture were there, although not much frequently used by the Japanese students, surprisingly enough!!
The final project of 1st year was emphasized a lot,as many interesting projects were done by the students through the year long STUDIO courses. So,before the Winter vacation,we had been told to select the best one among those of our individual projects and make a ful-fledge digital presentation with model and relevant illustrations for "Jury"(held in March,2005).
The year 2004 ended with a big 'Kadai' and a short winter vacation.By the way,I forgot to tell you another funny event of 1st year...........we had a great 'Gakuen-sai' which was celebrated with 'Kunitachi Shimin Matsuri'.That was simply amazing.I planned with my African friend to set-up a small food-stall and named "Afro-sia"(Africa+Asia).It became very popular to the Japanese students at the time of that Festival.

MY HOST FAMILY :

..........................................................................................
(With my host mother,in front of Shiba Ryotaro memorial museum, another reputed work of Ando Tadao)
3rd November,2003 : Higashi-osaka shi,Osaka.
..........................................................................................
Fortunately,I got a fantastic Japanese host family in Osaka. When Mikie san,my host mother came to know that I am a great fan of Japanese Architect Ando Tadao, she started to collect all the informations on the buildings designed by Ando Tadao and let me know about the details.I visited Ando's most of the famous buildings located in Kansai area, with my host family in those days.I felt myself very lucky, that I saw a lot of internationally famous architectural works in the very early phase of my Architectural education, while my friends whom I left in my country were using G.A. series to know about the same buildings. This feelings made me become greatful to Japan.I thank whole-heartedly to my teachers of language school,my seniors, friends from different countries and obcourse to my host family, who never let me feel home-sick while my one year staying at Osaka.

THE LANGUAGE SCHOOL :
2002 was the 'DREAM COMES TRUE' year for me.I have been selected as a Japanese Government Scholar by Monbusho. My session was supposed to be started fromApril,2003.So I had to leave my beloved BUET campus and Rashid hall,Polashi-r morh,Plinth of Architecture faculty, as well."If you wanna gain somethin',you gotta lose others",my mother told me.After finishing all the formalities of Japanese Embassy I collected my air-ticket of Japan Airlines,at the last week of March,2003.I arrived at Kansai International Airport very early in the morning of 3rd April.Staffs from Monbusho came to the airport for reception, and some of my teachers from Nihongo-gakko were also there. It was very cold outside, but I felt happy and trying to believe that I am on the land of Ando Tadao now!!I felt excited when I saw the full view of the air-port terminal designed by Renzo Piano.I read about the terminal building while studying in BUET.Actually it was the first High-tech building I'de ever seen in my life before.I touched the metal-wrapped columns and could make myself believed that "IT'S REAL !!!"

My lessons of nihongo-gakko started very soon to make me crazy.Cause, for the first time actually,I realized that BUET is the best place for making "good score by less effort",and Japan is not for the crammers of "night before exam",which was my type. So,every morning I started to get up before 7 'oclock(which I never needed to do for making A+ score in my whole student life!!),shower and shitting stuffs(!),and run to Minami-senri station to catch the 8:20 Hankyu Densha(the mostly used rail in Osaka) without takin' breakfast. It took pretty long time to get myself used to,but finally I found myself as a good runner to arrive at school on time(even by the train of 8:29,sometimes),starving till the lunch-break and eating GYUDON(rice with sliced beef) with Kimuchi!!
Life was very funny in that big dormitory for int'l students. We got Prodipda,Rashed vai and Munna vai as our senior in Osaka. We used to have cool adda at Minami-senri park, station front plaza or sometimes at the kingdom of Munna vai,the lobby of dorm-2.Boudi joined with us in the mid-summer. Moinul vai and other people of graduate school occassionally took part with us.
I could make a lot of friends from different countries in that dormitory-some were genious, some were crazy, some were humorous, some were super-international and even there were some people who are extremely nationalist!!!However,2003 was the year of prepare myself for the battle gonna start. After one year language course,I could manage myself to pass the final exam. with 93.5% score and gained intermadiate level of Japanese commucation skill, that was good enough to start any under-graduate course with japanese students.I think all credits led to the teachers of my language school and the education system of Japan.
In my last golden days of Osaka,I was busy with Graduation ceremony, packing my everything for moving to Tokyo and hunting around Umeda,Shinsai-bashi and all other down-town districts of Osaka.

ALLEN GINSBERG

I became familier with the name of Allen Ginsberg at the beginning of my senior high-school.I was a big fan of Sunil's novels in those days.Probably I found the reference of Ginsberg in one of his nonfiction,so far as I can remember.I read a lot about Beat generation in my 18,so it was very easy for me to get myself addicted with Ginsberg or Kerouc at that time. But as a matter of fact, my home town was very inconvenient for a 18 years old HOWL-maniac,who is lookin' for SUNFLOWER SUTRA at A SUPERMARKET IN CALIFORNIA.So it made me hunting around here and there to find out the Beatnic legends.Once,in a hot summer evening I found another hot spice,"sobir deshe, kobitar deshe",by Sunil, whichI bought instantly and later I found Ginsberg again with his creazy work"AMERICA".I have been introduced with his magnificent works from his not so famous work,"SEPTEMBER ON JESSOR ROAD",as it was written about my country,it's very well-known there. And even there are some people in my country know him just as the author of that poem. So,when I read,
"America I've given you all and now I'm nothing.
America two dollars and twentyseven cents January 17, 1956.
I can't stand my own mind.
..............
America, Go fuck yourself with your atom bomb.
............"
I thougt I've born in a wrong time!Too late,I am !!
After passing a long span of different dreams, recently,I've become a 'Ginsberg fan' from a completely different angle of vision.I realized that,I'm still a street hunter and Ginsberg will give me company a little more, while walkin' on my dream-route.

Stand up against governments,

against God.

Stay irresponsible.

Say only what we know & imagine.

central utsunomiya, the place I'm living now. This year,at the end of Spring I planned to visit Nikko with Some of my friends
living in Tokyo. It became more spicy when Prodip-da and Boudi joined with the group. Here is a snap of the famous Romantic Road of Nikko,2 friends from Osaka, boudi and me.Prodip-da is busy with his video-camera like other trips!!
If you want to visit nikko and need info, check the link :
A.I.J Exhibition-2006(selected 15 student projects of japan)
The Urban development project I did for my graduation(Engineering associate in Architecture) in march,2006 was selected for an exhibition held at Architects' Institute in july,2006.It was an exclusive exhibition of the best 15 student projects from all over the country, arranged by Architects' Institute of Japan(A.I.J) .Have a glance upon some of my presentation boards of that exhibition.
SUMMER OF 2006 :
Last 2 months were my summer vacation.....the long awaited summer since i've come to Japan. 'n way, difficult to explain why it was so special!! I got myself engaged with a lot of stuffs, mostly a sort of part-time job, in these days.....some were genuine and some were not quite so genuine !! I got myself back to TOKYO for a very short time that gave me some new dreams, but,the good old days i was lookin' for, have been stolen.
