TOKYO , 2005 :

...............................................................................
pix : YOKOHAMA , JUNE 27,2005
I walked on the banks of tincan banana dock and sat down under the huge shade of a Southern Pacific locomotive to look at the sunset over the box house hills and.....cry.............!!

After a white Christmas( it was literally white, cause that year, snow had been falling since the the first week of December in Tokyo,I can still remember)2005 began like a 'rush' with my final project. The painstakin' exam. was over and most of the times I was spending in front my computer with black-coffee and 'Marlboro'.I was working on ' SPATIAL ADOPTATION OF A TECTONIC MODULAR PROTOTYPE FOR TIMBER-FRAME STRUCTURES IN A TYPICAL JAPANESE WOODEN HOUSE'.Tryin' to make a neat perception of 'MOKUZO JUTAKU' from 'designing' and 'structural' ,both sides. It was a pretty high-ambition project for a 1st year guy,but in those days I got myself as a desperate dream-hunter. Anyway, finally it was selected as the best project of the year after jury's decission.
The new session started from April. There were a lot of things waiting for me .The extension exam of Monbusho Scholarship was supposed to be held in may.Unfortunately we,the candidates from Bangladesh failed to get the extension.I sat for the transfer students' exam. of Utsunomiya University in july, got the result in mid-July, summer-vacation started from August and for the first time I was feelin' homesick after 'one and half an year' long staying out of home, which let me to think about take a nap in winter vacation. The school was going asusual until I took part in that competition. It was a national level contest for all Architecture schools of Japan, arranged by 'Japan Institute of Architects'.So when I got the award, the Architecture Department of T.T.C. treated it as their 2nd victory of the year after my entrance to a Public University.
THE GAKUEN-SAI AND KUNITACHI shimin matsuri :
The Gakuensai was really great. We,the 2nd year students were supposed to plan about what exactly 'Architecture Department' should do for the festival. We decided to arrange an Exhibition of our design projects and some selected projects of Ex.TTC graduates. And so was done!! The Studio class-room was turned to an Exhibition gallery within a night.Tajino and I arranged the lighting system,Araguchi was in-charge of back-ground design,Yoshizawa and some of our juniors made the pannels of the presentation boards and all other self-willing volunteers helped us to make the whole thing lively and finish it on time.A fantastic team-work resulted to a good ending of the festival. Some of my Japanese friends studying in Hitotsu-bashi University came to see my projects in the Exhibition.I was busy on Daigaku-dori with my camera trying to frame-up all the colorful events of a bit louder Kunitachi !!
This year you can try it with your 'Fiancee', rather becoming bore with 3 days' late autumn holyday in your tiny apartment.I can bet you will thank me,if you go!......(to be continued .....plz keep in touch)
